Relocating To Russia

Russia is considered a country of vision with a modern western outlook. It still has a number of amazing features because of the fact that half its territory is in the Eastern part of the world and this has greatly influenced the atmosphere in Russia. This East meets West mixture is something unique and not in any way a detriment to the spirit that is Russia and has only enabled it to have more character than most other parts of the world.

If you are relocating to Russia on a business arrangement see that your company makes all the arrangements to transport your belongings to your new home. Russia has a lot of restrictions on exporting of items and you would have to be aware of these, so that when you are returning to your original location or parent country, Russian laws do not prohibit you from carrying out your own jewelry or antiques.

Check with your own physician before you make the trip. A full medical examination and a good supply of any medications would be prudent when you go to Russia for the first time.

Get informed on banking facilities that you can avail of in Russia and the restrictions on any credit cards that you may be using. You especially need to be informed on ATMs and their restrictions so that you do not have any problems after relocating.

Be generally informed on local laws and regulations so that you live like a model citizen  and do not run into any problems with the local police.

A point that many people who relocate make is that they ignore the fact that you are moving to another country whose language and customs are totally different from yours. Try to pick up a few phrases in the Russian language that will at least allow you to ask your way around. This could help you when you go out to eat and see that you enjoy the outing you have been adventurous enough to make. 

The cities of Russia are stunningly beautiful and quite unlike what most of the people in the Western World are used to. So make sure that you do visit them and also experience the great winters that Russia has.
